Bio
Hello, my name is Valerie Nadler. I believe that every learner enters the classroom with unique identities, experiences, strengths, and challenges, and that education is most effective when those differences are recognized, respected, and valued. An inclusive classroom is not one where all students are treated the same, but one where each student is supported in ways that allow them to thrive. My teaching philosophy centers on equity, belonging, and accessibility. I strive to create learning environments where students feel safe to express themselves, take intellectual risks, and engage authentically with course material. This includes using diverse perspectives in curriculum design, selecting materials that reflect experiences.
Teacher Specialization
I have been a K-2 special education teacher for nine years and an AIS Reading teacher for two. I have my Masters in Childhood Education (1-6) and Students with Disabilities (1-6). I also have a post-masters certification in Literacy. I have a Literacy certification which makes me a Literacy specialist. I am also a trained Orton-Gillingham phonics instructor.
