Bio
I have over 30 years of teaching experience working with students of all ages and ability levels, primarily in reading, writing, and English. I also speak four languages, have traveled extensively, and recently wrote a children’s book that is currently in the process of being published. To me, being a tutor is about more than teaching content; it’s about creating a safe, supportive space where students feel comfortable, heard, and encouraged to do their best. I believe learning is a lifelong process, and I enjoy helping students discover that learning can be both meaningful and enjoyable. From my experience, students learn best when they are actively engaged and feel supported, so I place a strong emphasis on motivation and positive, constructive feedback. My goal is to help students build confidence and interest in what they are learning while developing skills that make learning easier, more enjoyable, and useful beyond the classroom.
Teacher Specialization
I have 32 years of experience in education, including 5 years teaching virtually. I have taught students in grades K–12 in reading, writing, ELA, and ESOL. I hold a Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in Reading and am New York State certified in Reading and ESOL for grades K–12.
