Bio
Hi! My name is Vinnette Lewis, and I am an elementary educator with over 20 years of teaching experience. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and develop a genuine love for learning. I have taught grades K–6 in math, reading, phonics, vocabulary, science, and social studies. I have also served as an MTSS Coordinator, supporting students through targeted instruction, data-driven strategies, and personalized learning plans to help them make meaningful progress. My teaching philosophy is that every child can succeed when they receive the right support, encouragement, and instruction. I believe students learn best in a positive environment where they feel valued, respected, and confident enough to ask questions and take on challenges. As a tutor, I am patient, caring, and dedicated to meeting each student’s individual needs. I tailor lessons to each learner’s strengths and goals while making learning engaging, encouraging, and rewarding.

My teaching specialization is elementary education, with expertise in grades K–6 and a strong focus on building foundational skills for student success. I specialize in elementary math, reading, phonics, vocabulary development, science, and social studies. With over 20 years of classroom experience and online tutoring experience, I have worked with students at different learning levels, helping them strengthen skills, overcome challenges, and build confidence. I have experience providing personalized instruction, small-group support, and targeted interventions through my role as an MTSS Coordinator. My approach is to identify each student’s needs and create engaging lessons that are clear, supportive, and tailored to their learning style. Through online tutoring, I have developed strategies to keep students actively engaged in a virtual environment while providing meaningful instruction and encouragement. I enjoy helping students grow and become confident learners.
