Hello! I'm Dr. Windy Clark-Valenzuela, and I have taught elementary, middle and college students for 21 years. I am so excited to introduce myself to you and begin our learning journey together! I am passionate about meeting students where they need help and embracing their strengths and unique needs to develop a plan with clear goals and regular progress checks. My commitment to student success is unwavering. I employ a direct and multisensory approach when teaching students, utilizing auditory, visual, and kinesthetic/tactile methods to engage them in learning. I am dedicated to meeting students’ unique needs, developing personalized learning plans with clear goals and regular progress checks. I utilize auditory, visual, and kinesthetic methods to engage all learners. I look forward to working with you!
Teacher Specialization
I hold teaching certificates for K-6, a dyslexia certification, endorsements in English as a Second Language and the Science of Reading, and a Gifted and Talented certification. I have a master’s degree and a doctorate in education, specializing in teaching students with dyslexia and other reading disabilities. I taught undergraduate and graduate classes at the University of Houston teaching students how to become a teacher and writing course. As a certified dyslexia specialist in an Orton-Gillingham program, I use a direct, explicit, sequential, and multisensory approach to teach reading. With 21 years of experience in education, I am excited to start our learning journey together!
