Bio
Hi, my name is Yesenia, students call me Ms. Ramos. I am from Washington State. My educational philosophy is knowing that all students are capable of learning math and being good at it. As an educator, it is my job to make learning math accessible for all students. Through my teaching experience, I have become aware that students learn differently, others need more practice while others need more visuals to be good at something and be successful. I want students to be able to understand math and enjoy learning.
Teacher Specialization
I graduated from CSULB with a B.S degree in mathematics and minored in criminal justice. I have taught since 2018. I student taught grade levels 6 and 7. During my student teaching program, one of the classes taught was a GATE class (Math 6) and the other class incorporated some Computer Science in Math 7. In 2019, I taught at an elementary school in South Korea. I taught grades 3rd - 6th. It was an amazing experience getting to know a new language, culture, and meeting new family and students. In 2020, I taught online for the first time. I taught high school ranging from 9th - 12th grade. Since 2020-2025, I have taught several math subjects: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Accelerated Honors Algebra 2, and Accelerated AP Precalculus.
