Bio
Hi! I’m a math educator who enjoys helping students feel more comfortable and confident with math. I believe every student is capable of learning when given the right support, patience, and encouragement. My educational philosophy focuses strongly on building solid foundational math skills and developing conceptual understanding, rather than simply memorizing procedures or steps. I take the time to identify where a student may be struggling and build the skills they need before moving forward. My tutoring goal is for students to feel comfortable, supported, and confident in their abilities. I want each student tI’m patient and encouraging, and I like to take my time when explaining new concepts. I use things like color coding, visuals, and different ways of solving problems to help students find what makes the most sense to them. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and know that it’s okay if something doesn’t make sense the first time—we can work through it together!
Teacher Specialization
I have experience in education as both a substitute teacher and a full-time high school math teacher, including two years teaching high school mathematics. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Single Subject Teaching and a Master’s degree in Education. My experience includes working with middle and high school students across a variety of math levels and learning needs. I am also prepared to provide individualized math instruction in a virtual tutoring setting.
