Bio
Teaching is my passion and is a skill that is natural for me from very young age. Every moment is a learning/teaching moment, and there is nothing more exciting than to learn something new or to see the look on a child’s face when he/she realizes he has achieved a major or even a minor milestone in learning. My teaching philosophy embraces the fact that all children can learn. Every student is unique and may learn in a variety of ways and at a different pace; thus, the importance of meeting the child at his/her level and learning style and using a multi-sensory approach to facilitate his/her learning to the next level. Through the years, I have taught children of a variety of abilities and ages, and have applied this to all students. I am looking forward to being a part of your learning journey!
Teacher Specialization
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education specializing in Elementary Education and Special Education (Learning Disabilities and Severe Behavior). My Master's Degree is in Curriculum and Instruction. I have also completed hours beyond this degree in Reading Instruction. I have taught in public schools, private schools, and private tutoring. My teaching experience includes 4 years Learning Disabilities K-8 (all subjects); 8 years Special Education Preschool; 1 year online school (Learning Disabilities - Elementary); and 16 years Home School Teacher K-12 (all subjects). I have tutored privately for 6 years for grades K-10 (reading, phonics, handwriting, math, writing, grammar, study skills in science and history).
