Bio
Hi! I’m Zoe Hodges, a K–12 tutor who believes learning should feel supportive, empowering, and personalized. I focus on individual instruction by building on each student’s strengths and interests to help them succeed. My goal is to help students grow not only in their scores and overall success in each subject area, but also in their confidence in themselves as learners. I take time to get to know each student—their interests, hobbies, and strengths—and use those as tools to support growth in areas that need improvement. I genuinely listen to what they have to say and carry what I learn about them into every session, so our work together feels connected, encouraging, and tailored just for them.
Teacher Specialization
I am passionate about building students' confidence and skills through individualized support tailored to their unique strengths and motivations. I am certified in Orton Gillingham, Benchmark, Math Expressions, and Responsive Classroom. I provide structured, research-based instruction while remaining flexible to meet each child's specific curriculum and learning needs. I hold a major in Early Childhood–Middle Education (Birth–5th Grade) with a Spanish minor. During college, I tutored third–fifth grade students in reading and math for four years. I then taught first grade for five years, instructing students in reading, math, science, social studies, and Social Emotional Learning. In 2020, I virtually taught first grade in all subject areas for the full school year, adapting lessons to create an engaging and supportive online learning environment. I am currently substitute teaching and tutoring grades K–5 in reading, math, science, social studies, and Social Emotional Learning.
