Bio
I believe that students learn best with hands on strategies that focus on what they have experience in while allowing them to comfortably learn new topics in the way that works best for them. I focus on providing students with positive feedback and encouraging them to keep trying new strategies when things become difficult for them. My goal for tutoring is to help students develop confidence in what they learn by providing them with a safe place to learn and track their growth as we work together. As students develop new skills, I want to foster an environment where they can take their skills with them and use in their daily lives. Hello! My name is Ms. Abigail Weiss. I am an educator with a background in Elementary Education. I enjoy reading both in my professional and personal life. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy hiking and enjoying nature as well as spending time with my two cats and family. I want to create a positive learning environment to encourage all students to learn!
Teacher Specialization
Outside of Tutoring, I am a current 4th grade teacher. I have my B.A. with a focus on Elementary Education. I have been teaching K-5th for 3 years. I am passionate about teaching all learners and giving the support that they need in order to succeed. I have experience with students who have ADHD/ADD, learning disabilities, dyslexia, students who are english language learners and many other students.
