Bio

Hello! My name is Addison, and I bring over a decade of experience as a teacher, librarian, and school principal to my work as a tutor. Beyond education, I enjoy reading, writing, skating, and exploring new creative hobbies that keep me learning right alongside my students. I chose to become a tutor because I believe every student deserves individualized support that builds both skills and confidence. My teaching philosophy centers on the idea that students learn best when instruction is engaging, accessible, and tailored to their unique strengths and challenges. I use a mix of strategies—such as scaffolding, modeling, and differentiated practice—to ensure all learners can grow at their own pace. Feedback in my sessions is meaningful and constructive. I focus on celebrating progress while offering clear, actionable steps for improvement, so students always know where they are and how to move forward. I also believe evaluation should build self-reflection and independence, not just me

Teacher Specialization

With over 10 years of experience in education, I have taught and supported students from preschool through high school. My background includes serving as a special education teacher, where I created individualized instruction and learning supports; working as a school librarian, where I taught research, reading, and digital literacy; and leading as a school principal, where I guided teams of teachers and championed family engagement. This range of roles has given me a deep understanding of how students learn at different stages and how to adapt instruction to meet their needs.
