Bio
My name is Alex Matthews, and I have been teaching for the past 14 years. I train preservice teachers on integrating technology into their practice and conduct research on learning. I also develop online courses. I speak Mandarin Chinese, having taught in China for four years. My passion for education stems from a desire to understand how people learn, which also drives my interest in tutoring. I embrace a constructivist view, believing we create meaning from our past experiences, and I find that evaluation is most valuable when presented during new learning experiences. For me, building a trusting relationship with learners is essential to understanding their individual academic and personal needs and creating supportive, inclusive learning environments. I look forward to working with you to address your learning needs!
