Bio
My name is Alexa Williams. I believe all students can learn even though it may take longer for some than others, but with the right activity and teaching students will get it. I want to be fun, encouraging, engaging, and understanding. As a tutor I want to help inspire students and build their confidence to help them become independent in their learning, and for them to be able to be comfortable to ask for help when needed. I love getting to know my students and their families to support them and help them grow. If I know what a student enjoys I include it into their learning. I am a calm and patient person which makes it easy for students to feel comfortable in learning, I am a wife and a mother of three kiddos. I enjoy spending time traveling with my family. I am currently in school to get my certificate to become a BCBA, and I own an indoor playground. I chose to become a tutor because I love teaching, but I needed more flexibility to support my family and our busy life style.
Teacher Specialization
K-12 Special Education and Science of Reading Certified I have two and a half years of teaching experience in preschool, and I have six years of teaching experience in public school. During this time I have had experience with online education for myself, and teaching online during Covid and the two years following. My main focus areas have been K-6 special education, and experience with those that have ADD/ADHD, Autism, and other struggles that impact learning. I am qualified to teach K-12. My favorite subjects to teach are literacy and writing. I also enjoy animal science.
