Bio
Hello! My name is Allison, and I’m passionate about helping students grow into confident, capable learners. I believe learning should be fun, personal, and built on trust. When students feel safe and supported, they’re more willing to take risks, make mistakes, and grow. My educational philosophy focuses on creating a positive, encouraging environment where every child feels seen, valued, and capable of success. My tutoring goal is to make learning meaningful and engaging while helping each student build confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. Building relationships is at the heart of my approach. I take time to know each learner’s strengths and challenges to provide personalized support. I was honored to be inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society in 2022 for graduating in the top 10% of my graduate studies and earned the Master Teacher designation through TIA.
Teacher Specialization
I have over 18 years of experience in education, teaching both in-person and virtually. My background includes working with students in grades Pre-K through 8th in general and special education, as well as tutoring elementary and secondary students online in reading, writing, ESL, and math. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Child Development with a minor in Special Education and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership. I am ESL certified and experienced in supporting English language learners through engaging, language-rich instruction. I also have many years of experience in early literacy. My specializations include differentiated instruction, phonics, reading fluency, ESL strategies, and fostering academic growth for diverse learners in both traditional and online environments.
