Bio
Hi! My name is Amanda or Mrs. T. I am so excited to work with you! A few things about me: I love playing sports/watching sports (football and basketball are a couple of my favorites!), reading, being a mom (I have 5 kids!), baking, exercising and playing outside with my kids. My instructional strategies in math would consist of using a step by step approach, where I reteach the lesson, show examples, allow my students to show what they have learned, and assess their understanding. Every student learns differently, and it's important to tailor the lesson and strategies to their specific learning style. I want my students to feel successful rather than frustrated. Building a positive relationship is key to helping my students feel connected to me as a teacher as well as to the material. Remember! It's okay to make mistakes, and no one gets better at anything without practice, practice, and more practice! :)

I have a Professional Teaching License in Middle School Education: Math and English. I have 12 years experience teaching: 7 years at the middle school level, and 5 years at the elementary level. I have 2 years experience teaching online. I've also spent 4 additional years working as an instructional assistant at the elementary and middle school level. I've worked with students with adhd, autism, learning disabilities, and emotional disabilities.
