Bio
I’m a proud Miami native with a deep love for history and politics—subjects I study for pure enjoyment, not just for the classroom. I’m currently earning my Master of Arts in American History and Government at Ashland University, where I’ve had the honor of being recognized as the Teacher of Honor at the Ashbrook Center’s annual fundraiser and selected to attend the prestigious Teaching American History seminar at Montpelier, the home of James Madison. My teaching philosophy is grounded in curiosity, context, and conversation. I use a Socratic approach that invites students to question, analyze, and connect ideas through lively discussion and close reading of texts. I love to bring history to life through animated storytelling and by drawing parallels between the past and my students’ modern experiences. My goal is for every student to leave each session not only understanding the material but seeing how it shapes the world they live in today.
Teacher Specialization
I have six years of experience in education, including three years teaching in virtual and hybrid settings. I’ve worked primarily with high school students in grades 9–12, specializing in U.S. Government (AP and on-level), Personal Finance and Economics (AP Macroeconomics and on-level), U.S. History (AP and on-level), and AICE Sociology. I hold the Florida Civics Seal of Excellence, an endorsement recognizing advanced expertise in civic education. My academic background and passion for government and history allow me to create meaningful, discussion-driven lessons that help students connect complex concepts to their everyday lives.
