Bio
Hi, my name is Mrs. Brown:) I believe every student has the ability to learn, grow, and succeed when they are provided with the right support, encouragement, and opportunities. As an educator, my goal is to work alongside students to identify and close gaps in reading while building their confidence and helping them recognize their own potential. I believe reading is the foundation for success across all areas of learning, and every student deserves intentional, meaningful instruction that meets them where they are and helps them move forward. I look forward to working together to build confidence in reading!
Teacher Specialization
I am a reading specialist for grades K-12. I have worked with students in grades K-8 as a reading specialist and a private reading tutor over the last twelve years. I have been LETRS (K-5) and ASPIRE (6-9) trained, both based in the science of reading. I have worked with students who have reading disabilities including dyslexia and have the strategies necessary to give them the tools to succeed. I also have a bachelor's in early childhood education with a master's in teaching. During Covid, I was able to continue my private tutoring sessions online so that those students could continue to get the instruction they needed. I'm excited to continue to use my speciality to reach more students online.
