Hello! I am Mrs. Hernandez and I am happy to be here and be able to be a part of your learning! I am a current teacher at LSOA here at K12. As an educator, I believe my primary role is to foster genuine understanding rather than superficial memorization. I am committed to meeting each student where they are, identifying their specific learning gaps, and guiding them through concepts with intentionality and patience. I am happy to help with your academic goal in Spanish if needed as well. My tutoring goal is to facilitate student mastery of academic content by building conceptual understanding through personalized instruction, strategic scaffolding, and persistent support—empowering you as the student to think critically, apply knowledge independently, and develop confidence as learners. My approach to building relationships with students is rooted in creating a safe learning environment where mistakes are valued as opportunities for growth.
Teacher Specialization
I am a full online teacher and enjoy teaching online. I also speak Spanish in which I enjoy incorporating it into learning when applicable.I have taught 2nd grade and 4th grade and I currently teach 3rd grade! With 9 years of experience in education, I hold a degree in Early Childhood Development (EC-6) and specialize in early elementary instruction for grades 1-3. I am ESL certified and bring expertise in supporting diverse learners, including English language learners, through culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate teaching practices. My background equips me to create inclusive, engaging learning environments where all students—regardless of language background or learning level—can thrive and develop foundational academic and social-emotional skills.
