Bio
Hello, I am Mrs. D! I love all things STEM, but in my free time I enjoy spending time on the beach and enjoying the gift of family. My teaching philosophy is built on the belief that every student is capable of understanding and appreciating mathematics, regardless of their previous experiences or self-perceptions about their abilities. Mathematics can often be intimidating, but I strive to create a supportive classroom environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and growing in their understanding. I provide positive reinforcement, celebrate small victories, and encourage students to see themselves as capable mathematicians. Through consistent encouragement and individualized support, I help students build confidence in their mathematical abilities and empower them to believe in their potential. By praising effort and the process of learning, I encourage students to embrace difficulties and view math as a skill that can be developed over time.
Teacher Specialization
I am a year 6 math teacher, and I have two years of experience with teaching online in a virtual setting. My undergraduate degree is in economics and my graduate degree is a MBA in finance.
