Bio
Hi, I am a very passionate teacher and I believe in Socrates' motto that "teaching is the kindling of a fire rather than filling of a vessel." I am very patient and have experience working with different kinds of learners. I believe students learn best with the pedagogy that fits their learning styles, and as a teacher, I can bring the best out of them. I like to teach through discussion and differentiated learning to foster students' critical thinking skills. Besides teaching, I am a published author, in both Chinese and English. I like to cook, read, and practice Chinese calligraphy in my free time.
Teacher Specialization
I came to the United States in 1998 and attended UC Berkeley with a fellowship. Later I graduated from the University of Washington at Seattle with a master's degree in teaching. I am endorsed to teach both Chinese and English Language Arts. I got a Certificate of Excellency in Praxis II: English Content Knowledge test. I have been teaching Chinese and English Language Arts online for more than 10 years with great proficiency. I mainly teach middle and high school students.
