Bio
My name is Chris Whyte. My philosophy is that every student can learn if they are given the appropriate learning environment and proper support. I am enthusiastic and like to make my lessons fun and interesting. Providing feedback to my students is key, and I frequently celebrate the success of my students, and students have often expressed that they feel I genuinely care about their success. My tutoring goals include making sure I effectively teach the specific content area that led to the student booking the session in the first place. Also, based on my professional assessment, I would cover any other related content that would help the student better understand the content they seek tutoring for initially. I have been successful in many areas of teaching such as track record test scores, high student growth and effectively differentiating. I know students learn in different ways, so I'm very big on knowing my students and their learning styles, so I can adjust my teaching style.
Teacher Specialization
I am licensed to teach Middle and High School Math as well as Special Education K-12. I hold a Masters Degree in Special Education, a Bachelors Degree in Math Educations as well as a Bachelors Degree in Applied Accounting. I've been teaching for 15 years with the past 3 years online. I've taught just about every Math subject at the high school level from Algebra 1 to Pre Calculus and Trigonometry. At this level I will challenge students with the appropriate level of rigor that will ensure their sustained academic growth that will propel them firmly into the next Math course. Also, at this level, I provide deeper understanding of the complexities of mathematical and reasoning analysis that is needed for later years.
