Bio
My name is Coty Myrtil. As a long-time teacher, I believe that all students can learn and be successful academically if teachers take into the account the diversity and ability of each student. Differentiation is an important tool to use as teachers focus on the students'levels and their learning needs. I've always been able to factor in where the student is struggling (through testing and student interaction) in order to incorporate the teaching differentiation that addresses their unique academic situation so that they can become successful learners. I am convinced that I can help students achieve academic gains as a result of my many years of teaching experience. Put me to the test. Try me.
Teacher Specialization
I specialize in teaching Reading and Math to elementary students. I've taught both subjects for many years and have become adept at spotting learning difficulties in order to focus on the areas where they struggle the most. The ability of students to acquire the skiils necessary to identify main ideas from details, as well as the ability to summarize what is read, play an important role in the students'ability to succeed when confronting reading texts. As for Math, it's important for students to approach problems with many different ways to solve them. Learning to do multiplication and division computations, for example, will equip and challenge the students to develop multiple strategies in order to be successful. Having taught French to elementary students for 5 years has also equipped me to take into consideration the language barriers that may impede a particular student in their learning tasks. I can provide strategies to help alleviate a few challenging academic situations.
