Bio
Hi! I'm Courtney - a caring, high-energy educator with an extensive background in education. Over the years, I've had the privilege of helping students feel capable and proud of their learning, which is what I find most rewarding. My philosophy blends patience and encouragement to create a calm, low-pressure environment. I want students to be comfortable, ask questions, feel genuinely supported, and actually enjoy the learning process. I build relationships by showing up consistently - with empathy, humor, and an authentic interest in the student's growth and success. I provide clear structure, but also love letting students express themselves, and know they have a voice in the process. Learning should be purposeful AND enjoyable! Outside of teaching, I am either learning, being active, or expressing my creativity, whether through pickleball, snowboarding, or painting - I love exploring life! I'm excited to learn more about you and how I can best support you, see you soon!
Teacher Specialization
I specialize in guiding students from elementary through college in key academic areas. I am a certified 1st - 6th grade teacher with an Elementary Education degree. I earned my degree from Western Connecticut State University, where I graduated at the top of my major. My experience spans both in-person and remote learning. My background includes four years of being a 2nd grade classroom teacher (including one year remotely due to the pandemic), along with tutoring students before and after school during that time. For the last two years, I've transitioned into full-time remote tutoring. This combination of in-person and virtual experiences has shaped my ability to explain concepts clearly, connect with learners in any setting, and support students from early elementary through college-level classwork. No matter the subject or grade, I'm committed to creating an environment where students feel capable, motivated, and proud of their progress.
