Hello, My name is Dean Castellini. I believe that social studies is an academic discipline that develops strong critical thinking skills and leads to a greater understanding of the world around them. Students learn best when the topics being studied are presented in different learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic). The more the topics being taught are associated with the student's life experiences the greater is their understanding. I have a master degree in education and I am a New Jersey certified social studies teacher, grades 7-12. My interest include traveling, outdoor adventures, and cinematography (movie making). I have taught in several states over the years. The reasons for my decision to tutor is my passion for teaching history, as well as, my love to assist students in discovering the thrill of learning.
