Bio
Hello! My name is Debra Brigham. I have been teaching math a VERY long time and I still believe that the right teacher can make a big difference.I believe that any student can learn math if given the right tools and support. My many years of experience give me the ability to quickly diagnose areas of strength and weakness. I also have accumulated a LOT of time tested strategies to help with any weaknesses. My goal during tutoring is to help my students build confidence session by session. Math can be scary sometimes and students often feel like it it the only subject that they can't study for. I want to change that mindset a session at a time. My teaching personality has been described by former students as calm and encouraging. My students usually immediately feel comfortable.
Teacher Specialization
I am a 28 year veteran math teacher. I have a B.A. in Mathematics from Wesleyan College and am certified to teach grades 6-12 math in Florida. I taught 20 years in public school, 6 years in private schools, and have spent the last few years teaching and tutoring online. I most recently taught at FlexSchool, an online school exclusively for 2E (twice exceptional) students.
