Bio

With my experience of working with students, working with all levels of ability and background, I have found that learning by doing, making mistakes, and finding what works for you individually is what's important. I believe daily feedback to be both beneficial and encouraging. Students need to know they are learning and parents need to know their student is learning in a positive and knowledgeable environment. My tutoring goal is to help each student unlock their learning power. I enjoy getting to know my students, what is important to them and what fear they might have academically so I can help ease that fear and discover ways that will assist learning in any subject matter. I feel this will help academically and also help with reaching personal goals now and in the future. Positive attitude comes from having a skill set to help one achieve. I am a life learner and look forward to new adventures every day with my cats and dogs. I garden and spend as much time as I can outdoors

Teacher Specialization

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with minors in Mathematics and Social Studies. I taught in the public school system for 32 years. While teaching I worked with third through eight grade. I worked with all ability levels from gifted and talented to those with significant learning barriers. Each student is an individual and I will strive to meet each student at their own level and help them reach their goal.
