Bio
Hello! My name is Elizabeth Castillo, and I am excited to be your tutor! I live near Dallas, Texas with my husband, 2 children, aged 6 months and 22 months, and our 2 dogs (a Beagle Bassett and and a black Lab). I have experiencing teaching at Title 1 campuses. I have taught 1st Grade (2 years, 1 of those years as a Team Lead), 3rd grade (1 year), 4th Grade ELAR & Social Studies (2 years, 1 one of those years as Team Lead), 5th Grade ELAR 7 Social Studies, and an intervention teacher working with students in SPED. Currently, I am an Administrator and Curriculum writer for a Montessori school near my home. Teacher Specialization
I have experience teaching English Language Arts, Reading, and Writing for 4th and 5th grade, as well as teaching these subjects for STAAR preparation. I have worked with students of all levels and needs, providing a teaching style that helps my students better understand an area of struggle. I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a BFA in Graphic Design, which has provided me skills to create interesting and creative lessons for my students, as well as materials and engaging activities.
