Bio
I am an educator with over twenty years experience. I have taught students with special needs including ADHD, Dyslexia, Emotional and Intellectual Disabilities, just to name a few. I have taught adults seeking to get their GED both on the street (out side of prison) and inside of maximum-security prisons. My belief is that everyone has the ability to learn; we as educators have the responsibility to meet them where they are, and give them the educational experience required to meet their needs. I have a strong commitment to helping students meet their educational goals. Although, I am a strong reading teacher, I also love to teach Basic Math, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra 1. l My career has been built on the belief that every student can thrive when given the right tools, strategies, and encouragement. I use humor, storytelling, and creative activities to make lessons enjoyable. I celebrate effort as much as achievement reinforcing the idea that mistakes are part of learning.
