Hi! I’m Gina. After three decades in the classroom, I’ve realized one thing: I miss my students! I’m returning as a tutor because nothing beats the rewarding feeling of seeing a child's eyes light up! Meet Them Where They Are: Every child learns differently. Celebrate the "Small" Wins: I believe in full transparency and cheering for every milestone. Those small strides lead to giant leaps! Build Confidence: My goal isn't just better grades—it’s fostering a love for learning and a "can-do" spirit that lasts a lifetime. My mission is to help your child reach their academic targets while turning learning frustration into newfound confidence. Beyond the books, I want my students to embrace exactly who they are. I am fully committed to helping your child become the very best version of themselves, both as a student and as a person. Beyond the lesson plans and phonics tiles, my greatest strength has always been the deep, lasting bonds I create with my students and their families.
Teacher Specialization
I am certified in Early Education N-6. I have a masters in Special Education. I’ve spent my career learning the best ways to help kids learn. I’ve worked with just about every program under the sun to make sure no student gets left behind. I’m a big fan of Fundations and Structured Literacy because I truly believe a strong grasp of phonics is the "magic key" to reading. I’ve also used HMH Into Reading, Fountas & Pinnell, Reading Recovery, and the Lucy Calkins. Even though I’ve officially "retired" from the classroom, I’m not done helping young minds grow! There is nothing quite like the spark in a child’s eyes when a difficult word finally makes sense. I’m so excited to bring my 32 years of experience—and my deep love for phonics—to help your child blossom into a lifelong reader. I spent a full year as a virtual teacher for our school district, navigating the unique challenges of the pandemic to keep my students engaged and connected in a digital environment.
