Hello! I am so excited to serve as your potential tutor! I'm Jamie Economy, my first job was as a tutor in Hilo, Hawaii and I have taught ELA to high and middle school students. I focus on student-led learning and create engaging, personalized content to support each learner's unique needs. I have served as a department head and mentor for new teachers, and I am passionate about helping students build confidence and independence in their learning. Highlights of my career include founding a middles school Newsletter club and advising my 8th grade class in school activities. I believe in equipping students with strategies that fit their learning styles, preparing them for academic success and beyond. Let's learn!

I'm a secondary English teacher with over 10 years of experience in education and 2 years experience in virtual education. I have a MA in Teaching and I am certified to teach secondary English Language Arts. I began as a tutor and went on to teach ELA 8 and 9 for four years at Pahoa High and Intermediate School. I have experience teaching grade levels 7-12 in English Language Arts. I offer personalized online tutoring designed to meet the unique needs of each student whether they need support in reading comprehension, writing, or literary analysis. My teaching philosophy centers on student-led learning, and I use engaging, customized strategies to help students build confidence and academic success. I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring in virtual setting, including a full year of student teaching conducted entirely online. I used platforms like Google Classroom and Zoom to create interactive, supportive learning environments that mirror the classroom experience.
