Hello there! My teaching philosophy strongly centers around the belief that all students can learn. Anyone can be successful at math, as long as they are willing to put in the effort to do so. I enjoy working with students who want to be there and want to improve. One of the things I do well is break down concepts into smaller pieces so that it makes more sense and connects to your prior knowledge. This helps students catch on quicker and feel like they really have an understanding of what is being taught. I hope I can help you achieve great things!
Teacher Specialization
I have been a math teacher for over 25 years and I hold a Masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction. I have taught all levels of math from 6th grade through advanced Pre-Calculus but I particularly enjoy teaching Algebra because it is such a fundamental set of skills that you need for any upper levels of math. Over the last 25 years, I have tutored students in a full classroom setting as well as in small groups and one-on-one. Being a teacher through the COVID years, I had gotten used to interacting with students virtually and through the use of video. I hope those experiences will aide me in helping you be successful also!
