Bio
I strongly believe that every learner is capable of succeeding with the right supports in place. As a teacher and tutor, I believe I have the ability to help students reach their full potential. My goal is for students to leave our session feeling more confident when they came in. My goal is to get them one step closer to their goals and I celebrate every little victory. I want students to feel safe and supported when they are working with me so I work hard to build a positive relationship. I try to tailor my lessons to their interests and goals. I became an educator with the hope of making a lasting impact on my students like my own teachers had on me. Education is such an amazing tool we have been given and I want my students to see this.
Teacher Specialization
I am a licensed Elementary and Special Education teacher with experience tutoring students from kindergarten through college. I am committed to fostering a supportive, welcoming learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, making mistakes, and growing as confident learners. I believe every student learns differently, and I tailor instruction to each child’s strengths, needs, and goals. I bring over four years of tutoring experience and have worked one-on-one and in small groups across reading, writing, math, organization, and study skills. I previously served as Head Tutor at my university’s Academic Center for Excellence and was a finalist for the Rick Sheets Outstanding Tutor award. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and structured. I focus on building strong relationships, boosting confidence, and helping students become independent, motivated learners.
