Bio
Hello, I'm Jessie! I love to learn and consider myself a lifelong student! My hope is to share this love of learning with you! Spending time with my family, traveling, learning about history, cultures, foreign languages, going for walks/hikes, playing volleyball, exercising, reading, and laughing are all things I love. A lifelong goal is to become a polyglot, which is someone who knows more than 3 languages fluently. I have studied Spanish, Thai, and Arabic, all of which I intend to continue to improve as well as learn more languages. It is my firm belief that everyone is able to learn and when you are determined, nothing can stop you. My goal is to instill in you a love of learning and prove that anyone is able to learn. My background in Special Education and English Language Learners has provided me the tools and experiences to support students with all types of backgrounds and needs.
Teacher Specialization
My experience comes from working with students with various learning disabilities, ADHD, and/or English Language Learners for the past 9 years. I have taught in elementary, middle, and high school. My original degree was in International Studies, Anthropology, and Arabic. I returned for a second Bachelors in Special Education and am currently finishing my Masters in Secondary Education focusing on Special Education and English Language Learners.
