Bio

Hello! I am excited to help students grow and learn through K12 Tutoring! I have encountered many different types of students and learners. I have experience teaching middle school all subjects, as well as elementary school, all subjects. For a period of my teaching career, I narrowed my focus on teaching reading and writing as a title one ELA support teacher. These experiences have allowed me to see learning in a whole group and a small group setting. I am eager to continue to meet student needs by instructing in those small groups or one on one situations during tutoring at K12. I am passionate about taking from students where they are and allowing them to see the growth they can make through targeted time and intervention in their area of need. I also work hard to see that the student is comfortable with me before moving forward. I am ready to begin helping you and your student today!

Teacher Specialization

In my 14 years of teaching experience, I have taught in a variety of settings such as whole group instruction, small group targeted intervention, and one on one lessons. Out of those 14 years I have spent the last 11 in virtual education, and I feel that this is my area of strength. It allows me to first get to know the students and then dive right into what they need to know or are struggling to comprehend. I have spent the majority of my teaching time in 3rd grade, but with teaching various levels of intervention, I am confident with any subject in the elementary level. I studied at Michigan State University, earning my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and have since continued molding my teaching craft through annual professional development.
