Hi, Ms. Howell here!! So excited to be back in the education universe!! Few things about me: I was a jet engine mechanic in the Air Force, way back when, I love to read, crochet, when I have time, and I have two of the most lovable furry faces!!! I love kids and teaching. What else needs to be said? My goal is to help students to become confident in their math skills and to help them realize that they can do math. I emphasize that the fundamental goal of math is to help train their brain to think logically, which helps the student to become a problem solver. I am a positive thinking person which carries over with my discussions with students in the learning environment. I like to start sessions with a little get to know ya or how is your day/week going? I am encouraging but truthful and I will encourage students to ask questions before, during and after any lesson we cover. Ask till you understand, never give up!!

My experience began in the 20th century, 1997 to be exact! I graduated from East Texas State University but that is not what it says on my diploma. It states Texas A&M University, Commerce. Changed the name on me the last year!! So as you can see, I have been in the business for a few years. I have 'tools in the tool belt' of math to help you with any concepts you might be struggling with. I have taught 8th grade Pre-Algebra for 23 years and Algebra I for 20. I also did 3 years of Geometry.
