Bio
Students learn best when they feel safe and supported. Individualized targeted instruction proves to be highly effective. I believe that anyone can do anything that they set their mind and heart to. My goal is to help students fill in any academic gaps they may have. I have always been told by my students that they feel safe and known by me. I treat every student as if they were my own child. I am Katy Fox (yes, like the animal and no, it's not my favorite animal). :-) I get asked that a lot. My husband is also a teacher and together we have 5 kids, whom range from 31 to 4 years old. Yes! We will never be empty nesters!! :-) We love adventure, being outside, reading books and making memories. I was told by my high school counselor that I would never get into UCLA, which is where I wanted to attend College. I GOT IN and sent him my admissions letter. I fully believe everyone has value and worth and can achieve anything they set their mind to and heart on.
Teacher Specialization
I have been a teacher for over 10 years. I graduate UCLA with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. I have taught ELA in 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade. I have also taught Math in 2nd grade, 6th, 7th and 8th grade. I am a trained Interventionist for students that did not pass the STAAR or MAP benchmarks. I know how to provide support for student's with disabilities and educational gaps. I have over 5 years experience using online/video platforms to teach. It all started with COVID. Since then, many great advancements have been made using online platforms to teach.
