Hello! My name is Kira and I have been an elementary school teacher for 3 years.I chose to become a tutor because I believe that every student deserves to feel successful in their learning, and as an academic support teacher, strive to help students close the gaps. I believe that students learn best when they are active in their learning and when the lesson is engaging. I also believe it is important to incorporate hands on learning, visual learning, and auditory learning as each student learns differently and you need to meet the needs of all students. I aim to achieve academic growth and build confidence within students. Additionally, I aim to build students abilities in critical thinking and problem solving. I believe that it is important to build meaningful relationships with students to make sure they feel understood, supported, and safe in my learning environment. I have been teaching for 3 years, and have an additional year of experience teaching first grade for my student teaching. I graduated with a bachelors degree in early childhood education. I have experience working with children in kindergarten through third grade in general academics, as well as tiered systems of support to provide extra learning opportunities and interventions to students who may have learning disabilities.
