Bio
Hi, I’m Laura Black! With 28 years of experience teaching middle and high school students, I’ve loved helping young people discover how history and government connect to their own lives. I’m certified in seven states to teach Social Studies and hold an AP Government certification, so whether it's world history, U.S. government, or current events, I’m ready to support students at any level. I believe history is more than just facts and dates—it’s a guide to understanding the world around us. My goal is to help students think critically, ask big questions, and feel empowered to form their own opinions. I create a safe, encouraging space where students feel comfortable exploring new ideas and can apply what they’re learning to everyday situations. Seeing students grow in confidence, curiosity, and understanding is what makes teaching meaningful for me. Let’s make learning relevant and enjoyable together!
