Bio
I am a dedicated K–5 tutor who helps elementary students build strong foundations in reading, writing, and math while growing in confidence and independence. I use clear, structured, research-based instruction to support a wide range of learners, including students who need extra support as well as those ready for enrichment. I am currently completing training in the Science of Reading through LETRS, which informs my instruction in phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension—especially for students who struggle with reading. My sessions are engaging, supportive, and individualized, with a focus on helping students truly understand concepts rather than just complete assignments. Clear communication with families is a priority. I provide regular progress updates, explain instructional strategies, and partner closely with parents so they feel informed and confident in their child’s growth.
Teacher Specialization
I am an experienced elementary educator with 8 years in education, including 4 years as a lead teacher, 2 years as a paraprofessional, and 2 years as a substitute teacher. Some of this experience was during the 2020 school year so I have experience with online education as a parent and educator. I taught self-contained 4th grade for one year and self-contained 5th grade for three years, delivering instruction across all core subjects. I also supported students with special needs, implementing accommodations and individualized support. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Master of Arts in Teaching.
