Hello there! Thanks for visiting! I am a Math and Physics teacher with 20 years of experience spanning teaching, private tutoring, and Gifted and Talented programs. My goal is to make you feel at ease and build up your skill set, scaffolding from foundation up to advanced. I specialize in demystifying challenging math and physics concepts by (1) explaining concepts as clearly as possible, (2) performing examples in order to model the problem-solving process, and (3) providing several practice problems to work up to mastery. While I am a professional, I enjoy conversing in a casual tone (think more Penny, less Sheldon), as math and science are often culprits for producing anxiety in students. Whether you are aiming for that 1600 on the SAT, or just trying to enrich yourself, I would be happy to work with you!
Teacher Specialization
I have a Master's in Physics with a concentration in Education from University of Virginia, certificate in Leaders of Learning from Harvard, and hold teaching certificates in Math, Physics, Elementary Education, Students with Disabilities, and Middle School Science. I've been a tutor for over 20 years, and wrote a book called "SAT Math for the Garden State." I used to be a contract writer for the ACT Science section. I am passionate about making tutoring sessions productive + enjoyable!
