Bio
My name is Magdalena. I am originally from Poland and came to America when I was 7 years old. As an immigrant to this country, I struggled a lot in my early education years. I believe all students have the ability and desire to learn, provided the correct tools, supports and strategies. All students learn differently. Finding out how each student likes to learn helps target activities and supports I provide for those students to help them be successful in the classroom. Though tutoring I hope to bring a love of learning to students and give them the confidence and strategies to be successful in school and in life. I hope to instill curiosity and courage in all students I work with. Getting to know students and their likes and dislikes goes a long way in having them engage in lessons and want to learn. When working with students, I give them the respect they deserve, and encourage them to challenge themselves.
Teacher Specialization
I have worked in education for the past 8 years. I am certified to teach k-6th grade, though majority of my experience is in 2nd and 3rd grade. During my years of teaching, I have worked with students who need extra support, who are on grade level and students who are advanced and need enrichment in their grade level standards. I have worked with students with disabilities as well as students who are new to the country and don't speak English.
