Hello, I am Marcela! I believe that effective teaching begins with building meaningful relationships and creating a supportive, inclusive environment where all students feel seen, respected and capable of success. My teaching philosophy centers on student engagement, real world relevance and a growth mindset. I'm structured but flexible, passionate yet patient. My classroom is a place where laughter, learning and high expectations coexist. I'm known for being highly organized, creative in lesson planning and deeply invested in my students' progress, not just academically but as individuals. I'm the kind of teacher who celebrates effort, encourages questions and believes that learning should be both rigorous and enjoyable. I was nominated by colleagues and administration as teacher of the year. I served as a member of the leadership team where I engaged in ongoing professional development to help support my colleagues, students and their families.

Teacher Specialization

I have taught for 7 years. 5 of those years was in kindergarten. Where I specialized in early childhood education with a focus on language development and inclusive practices for English language learners. I design engaging, play based lessons that build foundational literacy, numeracy and communication skills, while supporting second language acquisition through visual cues, modeling, repetition and scaffolded instruction. My classroom emphasizes routine, relationship building and cultural responsiveness which ensures every child regardless of language background feels confident, understood and ready to learn. I also specialized in teaching 3rd grade Math and Science with a strong emphasis on supporting English language learners. I design engaging, inquiry based lessons that foster critical thinking, problem solving and real world connections. I have 2 years of virtual teaching experience.
