Hey there! I’m Maria, a foreign language, ESL, and social studies teacher with a Master’s in Teaching (MAT) and over 16 years of virtual experience. My passion for global cultures started at 17 when I spent a year as an exchange student in Switzerland—an experience that completely changed my perspective and made me fall in love with languages. I believe learning should never feel overwhelming or scary. Mistakes aren't something to avoid; they’re where the best learning happens! My goal is to make complex topics—like tricky German grammar, essay writing in ESL, or world history—feel clear, manageable, and stress-free. As your tutor, I’m here to help you build real confidence, level up your skills, and actually enjoy the process. I build strong relationships by taking time to learn how you learn best, tailoring sessions to your interests, and keeping things interactive and low-pressure so you always feel supported to ask questions and grow.

With 20 years in education and 16 years of virtual teaching experience, I specialize in making online learning active, dynamic, and effective for K–12 students. I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Foreign Language Education and a double major in German and International Studies. My background spans teaching German, ESL, and Social Studies across elementary, middle, and high school levels. I'll always be a lifelong learner, whether I'm taking classes at my local community college, or practicing Spanish with the goal of becoming a polyglot!
