Bio
Students learn best when they feel comfortable with the teacher/tutor. Discussing with students their own evaluation helps them learn from their mistakes/errors. My approach is to coach them and show them they can do it! My main goal is to make sure students are learning the material. Feeling at ease with their tutor helps them retain more information. Academic excellence will be seen even if it's a small step forward. Building relationships with students is critical as it helps them feel at ease and then learning can begin. My positivity and general outlook on life will reflect on them . I am Marichu Tellez, a mother of four children (all adults now). I have been teaching for over 33 years and have taught all levels from Pre-K through senior high school. I was born in Spain so I am fluent in Spanish. I want to help students everywhere, not just in my home town.
Teacher Specialization
I have been teaching for 33 years, Kindergarten - 8th Grade - all subjects. I have also been teaching virtually since 2020. I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a masters degree in Early Childhood. I am certified to teach English to middle grades 5-9. I have been trained in dyslexia recognition, assessment, and evidence based instruction strategies to support diverse learners. I completed the Florida Civics Seal of Excellence Endorsement Course as well.
