Bio
Hello! My name is Michelle Gonzalez! I am a mother of five and grandmother of four, varying in different ages and personalities. These experiences have given me patience, empathy, and a deep understanding of how children learn best. I find joy in seeing the moment when a student truly understands something new. My goal as a tutor is to build confidence by breaking down complex problems into clear, manageable steps. I honor diverse learning styles by supporting each students unique strengths. I create a safe welcoming environment where students feel heard and valued. I listen and respond with empathy, building trust through patience and consistency. I celebrate every win-big or small-so students feel motivated and recognized. By connecting content to real-life experience, I help students understand and apply what they learn.
Teacher Specialization
I have a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. My teaching journey began over 10 years ago. Through Texas Teachers I was able to obtain a teaching degree in Texas with a certification in the Science of Teaching Reading, and I am qualified to teach Pre-K through 6th grade. Throughout my career, I have spent four years teaching English online to students ranging in age from 4 years old to adults. For two years, I worked in resource programs and small groups, supporting students who needed extra help to succeed. I have taught both 4th grade and 2nd grade, specializing in phonics and helping students learn how to read. Currently, I am in my third year of teaching 3rd grade all subjects. I am also highly skilled in writing essays and preparing students for the STAAR test.
