Bio
Hello, my name is Mark L. and outside of teaching I enjoy playing music, cooking, and traveling. My focus as a teacher and tutor is not to teach my style, my likes, or my lessons; my focus is to tailor instruction to student style, likes, and the best methods for their classroom success. My goal as a K12 instructor is to help create a remote learning experience for students that is as productive and beneficial as the classroom setting. My joy as a teacher comes from seeing students reach their highest levels of achievement and success in the classroom, and I look forward to reaching this goal with you
Teacher Specialization
I specialize in grades 7 to 12 Social Studies which I am N.Y.S. certified. I also earned my Masters in Literacy, so I strive to merge literacy with social studies courses to best prepare students for NYS exams, college, and career readiness. In addition, I work hard to differentiate instruction to what works best for each individual students learning styles. With 20 years of teaching experience and 10 plus years of individual and group tutoring session both in person and on-line, I have found ways to bring remote learning to life for students to reach their highest levels of learning. In my 20 years of teaching experience I have taught reading (grades 5 to 12), U.S. history (7th,8th,11th grade), economics, participation in government, geography, and world history, global history, and more.
