Bio

Hello, my name is Melissa Bello. For nearly a decade, I’ve dedicated my career to helping students thrive through literacy, intervention, and ESL instruction. I’ve served as an MTSS Coordinator, Reading Specialist, Literacy Coach, and ESL Instructor both in Florida and abroad in South Korea. My philosophy centers on collaboration between families, teachers, and students, blending data-driven insights with a human-centered approach. I believe learning happens best when trust, encouragement, and purposeful instruction meet. Colleagues describe me as approachable, encouraging, and intentional. I create safe, engaging spaces where students build skills and confidence while families feel supported. My background in anthropology and experience across diverse settings have shaped my passion for celebrating culture and tailoring instruction to each learner. Above all, I am committed to empowering students to see themselves as capable, confident learners.

Teacher Specialization

I have ten years experience in education working with students here and overseas from the ages of six through adult learners. I specialize in reading and reading intervention, ESOL, and MTSS. I have also taught virtual ESOL classes to students in China as well as virtual small group reading classes to middle school students here in the United States with a focus on prepping them for state exams. I am CELTA certified, hold a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of South Florida, and am professionally licensed in Florida to teach K-6, Reading K-12, ESOL K-12, and ESE K-12.
