Bio
Hello! My name is Ms. Face, and I am looking forward to the upcoming school year, which will be my 18th year in education. I enjoy working with students of all abilities and helping everyone achieve their own definition of success. I firmly believe that all students can improve their reading and writing skills, and I try hard to help them have fun and make connections along the way. In addition to teaching, I am also a published author, and I have been writing professionally for more than 20 years. So, it's safe to say that I practice what I teach!
Teacher Specialization
I currently teach with Virginia Virtual Academy, and I instruct online American Literature (English 11) and Creative Writing courses. I enjoy working with students online and helping them move toward their next goal, whether that may be: passing a state assessment, graduating high school, preparing for college writing, or simply being promoted to the next grade level. My specialties include: grammar, persuasive writing, reading instruction, preparation for state assessments, remediation for assessments, and creating and delivering presentations. I have a BA in Psychology and a MA in Human Resources Development. My certifications include: English 6-12, Gifted K-12, and Special Education K-12. I am comfortable working with students in grades 6-12 in all areas of English and Language Arts.
