Bio

Hello, My name is Natalia Matthews. I'm excited to tutor and help students learn new topics or build on their knowledge. I have taught the past 2 years as an intern for fourth and first grade. I loved both grade levels for their own reasons and experiences. I was given the opportunity to teach a variety of subjects including reading, writing, math, science, social studies, phonics, phonemic awareness, and social-emotional skills. I look forward to meeting and working with your students.

Teacher Specialization

I have a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, so I am able to teach k-8. I taught fourth and then first grade these past two years while I taught, loved both grade levels for their own reasons and experiences. Before becoming a teacher, I was a tutor for about 7 years working with an after-school program working with students to complete homework assignments and reteach lessons their teachers were teaching in class. Having small group and whole group instruction to reiterate what they were learning and answering any questions they may have had. I was given the opportunity to teach a variety of subjects including reading, writing, math, science, social studies, phonics, phonemic awareness, and social-emotional skills. During my teaching experience I was performing whole class instruction, small groups, and one-on-one instruction to meet students' needs and accommodations.
