Bio
My name is Rachel Freese. I enjoy spending time in nature, particularly at the beach. I also really enjoy playing instruments, reading, crocheting and spending time with my family and dog-sons! I believe that students learn best when they are in a relaxed environment with someone they trust. Asking lots of open ended and expanding questions gives students the opportunity to examine their own perspectives and develop critical thinking skills. My tutoring efforts focus on building relationships with students that lead them to feel safe in sharing their academic concerns with me. I then seek personalized ways to address their needs and adapt as necessary. I enjoy finding out where student's interests lie outside the classroom and building a rapport with them based on these interests. Whenever possible, I try to pull their interests into the instruction. Additionally, I seek to help students feel at ease and comfortable with where they are so that they are relaxed enough to fully engage.
