Bio
Greetings! I love learning about new places, new things, and new ways of thinking. My approach is to invite students to enjoy learning and gain confidence in elementary FUNdamentals. As a first and second-grade classroom teacher and English specialist in classrooms in both North and South America, I understand language acquisition and the best strategies to support multilingual students. Additionally, sharing children's literature and inspiring a love of writing, reading, and problem-solving is why I am an educator! I am an intermediate + Spanish speaker and can offer explanations in both English and Spanish! ¡Espero que nos trabajamos juntos pronto! I hope we work together soon!
Teacher Specialization
I received my Masters in Education from Portland State University with an endorsement to teach English as a Second Language. My twenty-year experience as a teacher, specialist, and coach has afforded me significant professional development experiences that include teaching sheltered instruction strategies, the science of reading, and quality teaching for English learners. I am experienced in numerous curricula and teaching students who have different learning styles, strengths and abilities.
